Araya Family Pumpkins
Here is our 2011 pumpkin carving contribution. My wife and eldest son carved the Insane Clown. Teo’s (Tao of Teo) pumpkin is in the middle. My witch is on the right. My pumpkin must have had some type of fungus thing going on. It was covered in “warts” which made the witch a great choice. You can see some of the warts as dark spots.

There were no photographers taking pictures of the beginner surfers like me. So, I broke out my waterproof digital camera. I am holding the camera in my right hand – trying to fire off as many shots as I can. This was the only shot of me actually on the board (I know there is no board in the photo, but I was standing on it with a big ol’ grin on my face). I got up on my first try!
Surfing was such a great experience, I wish I could it more often.
Pura Vida!

Another sunset. Why do I keep chasing the sun? Why can’t I live at the beach?

This was taken at the Monteverde Reserve in Costa Rica. The “Cloud Forest” was so lush and think that there was something growing on everything. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any animals. My goal was to see the Resplendent Quetzal. Next time.
We did see these ox that are in traditional Sarchi style garb.

This is a picture from our room at the Nayara Hotel. I would definitely recommend this place. Too bad the Volcano wasn’t active. It would have been nice to see some lava flow.

Finally made it over to the Virginia side of Great Falls. It was a beautiful weekend so it was crowded and hard to be alone. I actually had someone stand right in front of my camera while it was on a tripod. Are you serious? You don’t see me standing here taking pictures?

We went to South Mountain Creamery in Frederick to see farm animals. The chickens and roosters seemed to pose for me.
They are so weird.
They must have known that my reduced red meat intake involved a lot more poultry consumption. Speaking of which e-mail if you are looking for Frederick’s best fried chicken (in my opinion). I also know the best place for Peruvian chicken, shredded chicken tacos, breaded chicken, red-wine chicken, Brown Stew Chicken, Jerk Chicken, BBQ Chicken. You name it – I know the corresponding place. I can grill a mean chicken too. I love chicken!!!
